Photo Essay: Parisians

On the street in the Bastille area of Paris.  Ordinary Parisians just going about their lives as a crazy American thinks it's all worth documenting.

Here we go...

Waiting to cross.

Coffee klatch in a bar.  The wife thinks he's just out walking the dog.  And he does it so willingly.

Coffee is about half the price if you order it at the bar & drink it standing up.

At first I thought it was an underwear promotion but it turns out it's for a fruit drink.

Is this a wedding shoot or for a commercial?  Don't really know.  The photog spent alot of time shooting the train from behind.  OTOH, the two left the shoot holding hands.Maybe it's a commericial heading towards a wedding.

Kids...

Mama taking the young'uns out for ice cream.

Movers

The men's shoes here seem to be longer than usual.  Even saw a pair of men's suede pointy toes.  A new style?  Can anyone guess where I was`when I took this pic?

The Parisians love their sun.  During the summer the City brings in sand & places it on one a bank of the Seine.  They call it "Paris Plage", Paris Beach.

This young lady took her sun on a grassy area along a canal.  Maximum exposure, minimum modesty.

Susanne in a lighter moment as we discussed the politics of Algeria.  Salim doesn't think the Arab spring will come there.

This cool dude was waiting for the Metro.  You have to be really cool to wear your scarf on a day when the temp will be 79.

Chilling out with friends on a warm late summer evening.

There they are...Parisians; candid shots, some cropping.

Today, we visited Basilica St. Denis, where many of  the French royalty are entombed.  Pics later.

My guess for the location of the men's shoes photo...

In an elevator?

Yes, no, or not even close? ;-)

Rachel...in the ball park...it's a particular type of thing, not a location or place.
