Travelling Again

Hi everyone,

I'm waking up the blog with this preliminary heads up.  In April we're heading out on a 14 day trans Atlantic re-positioning cruise.  It's called that because the cruise line is moving the ship from its winter Caribbean routes to the Mediterranean for the summer.

Since they have to do it anyway, they might as well try to fill up the ship.  So cost per day is a bit lower, the ports are fewer (three on this sailing) and the days at sea are plentiful.

The downside is that crossing the Atlantic in the spring makes for chilly & some rainy days.  Lounging on the deck or the private veranda won't be done as often.

That suits us just fine.  We're looking to relax and enjoy the shipboard food and activities.

The big plus is that we arrive with no jet lag.  Instead, we pay on the installment plan...six of our 14 days on the ship will have only 23 hours.  (Maybe we ought to do a Fall reverse cruise where six of the days go to 25 hours.)

We leave the ship in Barcelona where we have an apartment for three weeks, flying home after that.

This is our first trip to Spain; we hear wonderful things about Barcelona.  We'll tango there & look for yoga.   We'll explore the sights and the food, searching out the restaurants featured in the PBS video "I'm Having What Phil's Having", a really fun vid for anyone who likes food & travels overseas.  Have a look HERE.  Take a peek at the promo vid, just under 4 minutes.

Then in July, we're heading back to Montana.  This time instead of schlepping all over western Montana, we have an apartment in Bozeman for three weeks.  Last year, we missed their annual Sweet Pea Festival (check it out HERE) but timed it for this trip.

We'll re-join the Bozeman tango community and maybe zip over to Missoula for a day or two for their tango. And continue our yoga at the same wonderful studio as last year.

I'm also going to spend a half day with the local Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) folks, just to trade ideas on how they do things there & we, here.

I just read a notice from Google concerning a requirement to have a Google account in order to follow blogs.   I'm not sure what that means since you all have email subscriptions.  I guess we'll just have to see.

That's it for now.  Stay tuned.
