2013 Practice Blog

We'll be in Paris in about four weeks. The interface has changed so I need to practice a bit.

Here is my favorite photo of the Eiffel Tower, taken last year.  The tower is in shade but the background is not.  It is the wallpaper on my new Microsoft Surface Windows 8 tablet PC.

This is a video having nothing to do with Paris.  A few years ago I volunteered with a group of fellow retired electrical engineers to spark interest in studying the sciences by spending a day teaching basic physics principles to 5th graders at a charter school in south Phoenix.  On this day we were teaching Newton's Laws and Archimedes' Principle as they applied to sailboats.  Later in the day the kids designed, built & tested model sailboats.

Here is how I taught Archimedes' Principle using the same technique as my high school physics teacher way too many years ago.

(BTW, some email subscribers may not be able to view the video.  They can go directly to the blog on the web to see it. Click HERE )

More practice blogs later.
