In Bozeman-town

According to the Blogger platform, this is my 140th post since this blog got started in 2011.  Before that, it was a journal sent as an email from my Hotmail account, maybe 2 or 3 photos, certainly no vids.

Anyhow, our first full day here was mostly cloudy with rain.  But Thursday evenings during Bozeman summers means Music On Main...a street festival with a loud band.  Main Street is closed for a few blocks, open container laws are suspended, food trucks aplenty, the lot.  The weather cooperated with late afternoon sun as if there wasn't any rain.

Chilling at the Rocking R.

This particular food stall was wonderful.

A generous serving of veggies, noodles & chicken (optional).

I took a short vid of the cook at work which he apparently didn't appreciate.

Susanne is not known for being merely an observer, especially when a celebrity is around.

Did the Bozeman Saturday Farmer's Market; it was a disappointment...95% arts & crafts.  The little produce displayed was way overpriced and not clearly marked.  I mean, a small bunch of radishes that would be 50¢ at Sprouts and maybe a buck or a buck & a half at a farmer's market was $2.50.  Missoula's market was much better.  There's another market in another place during the week.  Hope it's better.

 =============

We're not doing much in Bozone (local jargon for Bozeman), mostly just hanging around.  Today, the 3rd is erev Independence Day.  And some folks are ready.

I guess these people hail from Maryland and Ohio, note their state flags left & right.

Several more now ready.

So far, this is the most stately old home we've seen and it's in our neighborhood a few blocks away

With every intersection controlled by traffic lights, there comes a control box, usually big & ugly.  You can't do much about the "big", but Bozeman takes care of the ugly.

Here are two on Main Street, along with credit given to the artist.  All the boxes in town are done up.

Tomorrow the 4th we have an early morning yoga class, then we head out to the small town of Ennis, about an hour south, for a small town 4th of July.

Here's their Facebook page:

We'll start with the fireman's pancake breakfast, a car show, at 10:00am the requisite parade, then the Lions Club BBQ.  There's a rodeo & fireworks in the late afternoon & evening, but I think we'll head back to Bozeman by then where there'll be a symphony concert & fireworks.

Hope to get some pics to post later this week.
